"Nights were much lighter than I imagined they'd be on the ocean. Millions of stars lit up the sky and I saw two of the most amazing falling stars I've ever seen. Phosphorous highlighted the tops of waves and revealed critters swimming all around us. Dolphins joined us on two nights, racing our bow. Little, chattering seabirds were attracted to our running lights. Many would fly into our sails, then flutter down onto the deck and into our cockpit. One surprised Brian by landing directly in his lap. I scooped another up in my hands and it was so delicate!
