Tomales Bay in Winter
"I launched at Nickís Cove, and with my three traps set along the western shore of the bay, explored from Tomís Point to Pelican Point. The ring traps I was using, which lay flat on the bottom, need to be checked frequently. I would explore the shore for about 45 minutes to an hour, and then go back and raise the traps to check them. The traps were loaded. Crabs of every size, and usually many star fish, all feeding on the bait. Toss the undersized crabs and the starfish in the bay, and save the rest. I could taste the crab salad already."
