Dinghy cruising the Yasawas
"They are truly amazed at the stories of my little boat, so much so that it's a total village expedition the next morning back to the other side to see it. As with others, the oohs and aahs over my method of transport were interjected with comments about my bravery and skills as a seaman. I was even called "Ratu Dave" meaning chief and one I really liked: Kai Viti meaning something like "stick Fijian" or "brave and tough". I wondered how many other skippers had been treated as such: not too many of those hiding offshore in their luxury glass and wood champagne palaces, I'm sure. Oh yeah theres a lot to be said about traveling in an open boat and my heart swelled again!"
