Everything finally came together

"Left the ramp at the mouth of Crystal River about 9:30 am. My daughter, Amy, dropped me off and agreed to pick me up the following Saturday at Fort Desoto. There was a good E wind in the morning, slowing down to about 10mph around noon and by afternoon had shifted to the NW. I sailed about 6-8 miles off shore in 4 to 6 ft of water. Water depth was consistent but there are random rock piles and hard shelves spread throughout the area so a sharp eye ahead was required. The water was still fairly clear (it will get pretty cloudy when the rains start) and I was able to watch the bottom go by. Nice grass flats with sandy depressions."
