 A West Wight Potter 19

"So, with that qualification, let's say that the P-19 very definitely made this trip possible.  She's light enough, compact enough and handy enough on her trailer to make a passable load for my old Chevy V-6 half ton pickup with ordinary automatic transmission. . .not a strong towing rig.  She launched easily at the admittedly excellent ramps at Puerto Escondido and La Paz, and would no doubt launch satisfactorily at several of the other ramps we looked at.  To use the ramp at Bahia Magdalena would require a high tide series and or a willingness to launch a lot of the truck too.  I don't know of any other boat of anything like her size that will launch any easier than the Potter.  So, to the extent that my sailing is really long range road travel, the Potter is perfect."
